Our Approach to Handbalancing
There’s a presupposition in the handbalancing world that if you want to handstand, you’re ready to “just send it”. But we know this is not the case.
Learning to handstand is, quite literally, learning to stand again. It not only demands attention and coordination, but also specific strength from limbs that haven’t evolved for this task in the same way your legs have. So it’s going to be exhausting and messy – which quite frankly is scary.
We have found that a combination of specific strength, coordination, and mobility are the main components needed to feel confident inverting. So each of the 10 days of our Confidence course introduces you to different methods to build these three qualities.
But merely following drills isn’t enough, students who understand why we program the way we do make much faster progress. So each day we start with brief written theory, empowering you with the knowledge and correct intent to get the most out of your training.

Your Handbalancing Instructors
Mikael Kristiansen and Emmet Louis are both international teachers of handbalancing and flexibility and have spent big chunks of their lives studying and understanding all aspects of these skills professionally both as performers and teachers. With Handstand Factory, they now want to demystify and simplify the process of learning handstands, and make it accessible to anyone wanting to learn to stand on their hands.
